What is MIHP?
Michigan’s largest Medicaid home visiting program for pregnant people and infants — free support that comes to you.
The Maternal Infant Health Program (MIHP) pairs families with a registered nurse and licensed social worker who provide education, assessments, and care coordination during pregnancy and through baby's first year.
Visits happen primarily in your home — or by telehealth when that works better. The goal is healthy pregnancies, strong birth outcomes, and healthy infant growth and development.
What happens at visits?
Your first visit includes a risk assessment that guides education topics. Your team monitors infant development, helps you follow medical recommendations, and connects you with resources — from safe sleep spaces and car seats to food, housing, and mental health support when needed.
